Ebor to Killarney – Day 8

Posted on

Packed up camp early and hit the road as it was cold and I was in a bit of a Valley. Sandy Creek though to the Bruxner Highway was pretty good going and I made good time. Turned onto Boorock Road and we were back into the rolling hills. A few punchy sections but the road was good. Made it to Gilgurry TSR in good time. Turned onto Harrigans Road and had lunch at Boonoo Boonoo River (pronounced ‘bunna bunoo’). A beautiful spot just off the road. A family from Liston joined me for a swim. I told them which direction I was going and it was ‘hmmm you have a bit of a climb ahead of you, I’d say you’ll be doing a bit of pushing’. I informed them I had gained much experience in this style of mountain biking. Yes it was a bit of a climb and I did a bit of pushing. One of those hills best tackled in the cool of the morning not at 2pm. Now camped by Jennings Creek and it’s starting to get cool. Lessons learnt on the BNT – 1) there are always magic spots along the BNT, 2) see previous days lessons.
