Jenners Creek to Killarney. This is to be my last day as things have come up and i have decided to leave Killarney to Toowoomba for another day.
Up for an early start as I had a 70km ride ahead. I was on the Mount Lindesay Road for the next 30km with a mix of bitumen and dirt. First stop was Alooma Lavender Farm where I had a coffee and scones with jam and cream – perfect breakfast. Great little place for a visit. The road was great and I made good time to the Cullendore Creek turnoff. Nice little 8km climb up to the Cullendore Border Gate where I turned right and filled the border fence along for the next 15km. A few locked gates along this section so it was a process of taking the trailer off and lifting it over the fence and then lifting my bike over and finally putting the trailer back on. I did this about 5 times.
Finally pull into Killarney after 70km and the only place open was the pub – I think I had earned a light beer. My good friend Roy Blenkin picked me up and drove back to Toowoomba.
What a trip – in some ways just right and others not long enough.
