A weekend of bikepacking with a good mate? What could be better.
I had planned to ride from Ebor, in NSW to Toowoomba in January this year but circumstances dictated that I had to pull out at Killarney. That left the final leg to Toowoomba unfinished. It’s been a busy year and spare weekends have been rare – so a free long weekend was the perfect opportunity.
So Roy and I planned a little three day ride from Killarney to Toowoomba. Packing was a bit quicker this time round as I am slowly getting better at it. Roy had all his food laid out – chia and protein powder (yum).
Jo Capp offered to drive us to Killarney and we gladly accepted, arriving in Killarney by 10:00am. Thanks Jo.
Off we set along the Condamine Gorge, a beautiful section of road which crosses the river 14 times. Our aim was Lake Moogerah about sixty km into the ride.
